Today I am a tiny bit hungover. Last night I was over at Leda and Charlie's for lovely risotto and wine and drunken singing past midnight, with a couple of their friends who I hadn't met before, Ed and Polly. Within five minutes, while sitting at the dinner table, I managed to call Ed a dwarf (accidentally) and tip a glass of wine into his lap. It's amazing I get invited anywhere, really.

Spilling the wine I can understand, but how do you manage to call someone a dwarf 'accidentally'?

The gentleman in question is 5'5" (and a half, apparently), and is on the constant receiving end of jokes about his height from Charlie. He's also quite a funny chap. When sitting down to dinner we ended up talking about medieval banqueting, for some reasons:

Me: "All we need to complete the picture is a bear in a cage..."
Ed: "So we can poke it with sticks!"
*laughter*
Me (without thinking): "And maybe some sort of...comedy dwarf!"

It's certainly possible. I'm still in the process of trying to sort out flights and figure out when I'll go where and how long I'll be around for - because I'm so skint I'm fairly inflexible about flights as the cheapcheap ones are only once or twice a week. But I will keep you posted!
