See, this is kind of fascinating to me; if the conditions are hard on shoes, why not bring sturdier shoes? But then the world of shoes which cost a fiver is closed to me (on account of having huge feet) so I'm not used to them being something I can use and throw away.
Additional question, then, what shoes are there available to buy locally?
