christ fucking christ bollocks i feel awful.

we drank bourbon and triple sec, and then hot sake, and then more bourbon and triple sec, then an entire bottle of brandy and a bottle of dessert wine. what the fucking fuck. i went to bed around 7, woke up at ten in a panic because i was supposed to be working today, emailed my boss to tell him that i was hungover and couldn't possibly come to work. i have never done that before.

there are some of the most AMAZING photos in the WORLD which [livejournal.com profile] chiller may post later.

i want a million cherry cokes.

I've always wondered what triple-sec is. Where can you buy it? I've only ever seen it as an ingredient on cocktail menus, much like Galliano...

We went to a cocktail party once where every atendee had to bring an ingredient, so I thought we'd be cool and bring a bottle of Angostura Bitters. When we handed it over we realised that 5 other people had exactly the same idea...

I have no idea, but according to [livejournal.com profile] chiller, it's a generic name for any triple-brewed citrus liqueur. SO technically Cointreau and Grand Marnier are examples of triple-sec*, but the stuff that you can buy in off-licenses (I think that's where Rachel got her bottle) under the name of triple-sec is a lot less sweet than either of those.

I like the idea of a Bring A Random Booze party, or at least I would like the idea of it if the very thought of alcohol wasn't giving me the boak**.

*which I keep mistyping as 'triple-sex', oh dear.
**in general I find it irritating when we Englishes adopt Scottishisms, but 'boak' (or boke?) is such a useful term.

Ah, so now i know :¬)

Don't worry about saying boak, you can even say pish without fear of ridicule. However, I would strongly recommend you do not start calling your female friends hen, that would be too much (Mate).

Tom says I'm allowed to say things that are pronounced the same in English and Scottish accents, which so far includes 'wee', 'bam' and 'boak', but pish would also fall into that category. Excellent!

Is 'hen' a specifically Glaswegian thing? In Nottingham they call women 'duck', which I always found odd but endearing.

Yeah, 'hen' is a Weedgie term of endearment for a female: Awright hen, yer lookin pure stoatin' today byraway! (Hello dear, you look nice)

Stoatin'? Good lord.
